November 2025 Update
As we move deeper into the season, the time spent on the water naturally transitions to time spent behind the vise. To help fuel your winter tying sessions, I am excited to announce a major update to the Garren Wood Store.
From a fresh batch of handmade iron to new artwork that pays homage to the history of our craft, here is a look at what has just arrived.
1. Handmade Hooks (80+ New Pieces)
The foundation of a classic fly is the hook. I have just uploaded over 80 new handmade hooks to the site.
Crafting these is a labor of love, ensuring the taper, point, and japan finish are just right. Because of the manual nature of the process, once these are gone, it takes some time to replenish the stock.
2. The Collector’s Cards
I wanted to create something that was both functional and beautiful. Our new greeting card collections—The Kelson Collection and Autumns on the Spey—are now available.
These aren’t just for writing notes. Each card features high-quality prints of classic patterns (like The Black Ranger or the Gold Purple Fly) on the front, with the full material list and recipe printed on the inside. They make excellent gifts, but they also serve as great reference cards to keep pinned above your tying desk.
3. Fine Art Posters: Pflueger Sobey
For those looking to elevate the aesthetics of their tying room or den, we have launched the Pflueger Sobey poster series.
These high-contrast, black-and-white prints capture the elegant, aggressive curves of the hook in abstract detail. You can order these as standalone prints or fully framed and ready to hang.
4. Stickers for the Kit
Finally, we’ve added some new vinyl to the shop. Check out the new Salmon Fly and Steelhead Fly stickers. These feature vibrant, sketched artwork—perfect for your travel tubes, fly boxes, or laptop.
