Mustad’s Qual. 4054 was sold as Mustad-Virginia Hooks. The label specification reads Hollow Point, Flatted Blued: a blind eye made by flattening the shank end, and a blued finish.
The page records seven hooks of the model mounted on a Mustad sales card. No catalog or price list for Qual. 4054 has yet been found, so its wire gauge, proportions and intended use remain undocumented.

IMG-1Mustad — New entry — image 1 Sales card with seven Qual. 4054 Mustad-Virginia Hooks, Nos. 2 to 8, in the lower row. The upper row and the right-hand label are Qual. 3740 Mustad-Cincinnati Bass Hooks.
2How to identify it
The label gives the pattern number after Qual., so this model reads Qual. 4054, with the name Mustad-Virginia Hooks. Look for the small bit key at the left of the label, with the word Brand beneath it.
The recorded card also holds Qual. 3740 Mustad-Cincinnati Bass Hooks, labelled Ringed Bright. A loose hook from such a card can be told apart by its shank end: the 4054 ends in a flattened tab with no eye.
The label states Hollow Point. On the recorded hooks the point tapers in a straight line from the barb to a fine tip, in line with the point leg P. Rust scale hides the inside profile, so the hollow form cannot be confirmed from the photographs.
The shank is straight and plain, without rings, slices or kinks P. In face-on view the wire keeps an even width through the bend, consistent with unforged round wire I. Forging on the other axis and any offset cannot be judged, because the hooks are tied flat to the card.
