How to identify it

The size 1 specimen carries no maker’s mark on the wire, and no Daiichi packet was photographed with it P. A loose hook of this pattern is identified by form, so it is best matched against a packaged, labeled 2271 of the same size I.

On the specimen, the cut end of the loop’s return wire shows as a small step on top of the shank, a short distance behind the eye P.

Collecting and buying

1.5 / 10CollectabilityRarity: Common

Easy to find as new stock and sought for tying, with little collector interest; this places it low in the common band I.

Basis: Offered new by several US fly-tying dealers and an online seller in 2026 V.

New packs were listed by US fly-tying dealers and an online seller in 2026, and one listing reported 85 sold V. That availability places the model in the common band.

One dealer showed the hook as sold out, and the online listing showed size 2 out of stock V. These are stock gaps at single sellers I.

No sold results are recorded, so no value range is given. New 10-hook packs were listed at US $10.99 in August 2026, and one US fly shop listed the hook at US $6.50 and showed it as sold out V.

Where to find
