Summary

The Daiichi 2220 is a streamer hook. Dealer listings give it a 4X-long shank V.

The entry rests on photographs of one size 4 specimen and on dealer listings. The specimen lies on a handwritten card, and no manufacturer packaging, printed label or hook marking is recorded. Its model code and size therefore come from that handwriting.

How to identify it

The photographed hook shows no stamp, logo or printed text P. Identification therefore rests on form: a long, plain, straight shank, a round bend and a closed eye turned down.

Those features alone do not name a maker or model. A manufacturer package or printed label would document both.

OBS-6SRC-1SRC-4

Dealer listings give the 2220 a 4X-long shank and 1X heavy wire V. On the photographed size 4, shank proportion and wire thickness fall closest to the 4X-long and 1X heavy groups in the site’s catalog I.

Two dealer listings call the hook forged V. Forging presses the wire flat in places, usually at the bend, for strength. The side-view photographs cannot show this, and they cannot show any offset of the point P.

The point is long and slender and tapers to a sharp tip P. One dealer says Daiichi hooks use a 12-degree constant-taper ground needle point V. That wording covers the brand, not this model alone.
